Each February, the seasonal aisle of the grocery store morphs into a sea of bright red, heart-shaped boxes. Filled with an assortment of chocolate treats, the favorites always seem to disappear first. For us, that's the coconut truffle.

Comprised of a blend of bourbon barrel-aged components 1-2+ years, old, Barrel-Aged Chocolate Coconut Truffle pours opaque black, immediately presenting its array of chocolate shop aromas. Milk chocolate, toasted brown sugar, and molasses greet the palate up front, with notes of coconut, vanilla cream, and bourbon providing well-integrated highlights as the glass warms. Moderately sweet, with a viscous mouthfeel, this entry to our Dessert Series remains remarkably drinkable throughout.
