Berliner Weisse with Mango and Guava
Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew. We name these beers in sequence - their numbering first indicates the year in the Trillium lifespan that the beer was released, followed by a recipe indicator. Learn more about our Permutation series by checking out our overview and our refresh. Our exploration into heavily-fruited Berliner Weisse inspired sour ales carries on with Permutation 6.50. Shifting from previously-utilized berry fruit, we selected additions of tropical varieties for our latest interpretation.
Brewed with a substantial amount of mango and guava, Permutation 6.50 pours a deep apricot color with a soft haze. The aroma is heavily led by the fruit additions, with mouth-watering notes of dried mango peel and guava nectar inviting the first sip. A kiss of sweetness is balanced by a pleasant acidity and a hint of bitterness. Medium-bodied with scrubby carbonation, Permutation 6.50 offers a vivid drinking experience.
