Our Fated Farmer Series is a landmark step toward realizing our foundational vision for Trillium: Build a place that intuitively celebrates the intersection of New England farming, agriculture, brewing and an integrated community experience. The grist of each of the dynamic Fated Farmer wild ales is set on the structure of Valley Malt and is barrel fermented in 500L puncheons with our Native New England Wild Culture and aged for 5-7 months, before re-fermenting on freshly harvested fruit. The beers in this series are explorations of how natural agriculture can enhance and accentuate our wild ales - as we continue to produce new batches of Fated Farmer we hope to a give recurring showcase to this concept.
Fated Farmer: Fruit Salad - Batch 2 is fermented on a variety of fruits from other variants in the Series and beyond; nectarine, peach, plum, blueberry, blackberry, cranberry, raspberry, red currant, and Asian pear. Out of the bottle, Fruit Salad pours an eye catching dark ruby red with a subtle haze. As a fluffy light pink head blooms, enticing berry forward aromas greet the nose underpinned by bright lemon peel and a touch of funk. The palate follows closely revealing mildly sweet flavors of cranberries and stone fruits with a gentle oak character. Fruit Salad has a light to medium body with a refreshing acidity, lively effervescence, and a mouthwatering finish.
