Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew. We name these beers in sequence - their numbering first indicates the year in the Trillium lifespan that the beer was released, followed by a recipe indicator. Coming from our Fort Point brewery, Permutation 6.03 marks the another entry of our deeper exploration into the unique and innovative hops being cultivated in the Southern Hemisphere. For this batch, we focussed on New Zealand origin Motueka from Freestyle Farms.
Pouring a hazy light marigold orange color, Permutation 6.03’s nose highlights Motueka’s distinctive aromatic qualities invoking bright citrus, herbaceous mint, and ripe melon. The palate closely follows delivering waves of vibrant lime and tropical mango alongside ripe stone fruit and honeydew. Balanced by a gentle, Noble hop-like peppery spice and underpinned by a light biscuit malt character, Permutation 6.03 has a medium body and soft mouthfeel with a clean, mouthwatering finish.
