Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew. We name these beers in sequence - their numbering first indicates the year in the Trillium lifespan that the beer was released, followed by a recipe indicator. Brewed at our Fort Point location, Permutation 6.06 utilizes a simple grist featuring local grown Valley Malt Pilsner from Hadley, Massachusetts. This pale lager pours a brilliant, light yellow straw color with a pillowy white foam and eye catching lacing. Cleanly fermented, the nose is immediately greeted with Valley Pilsner’s delicate malty sweetness calling to mind notes of freshly kneaded dough. Distinctive and bright, Noble hops provide Permutation 6.06 with engaging aromatics of lemon rind, juniper, and lavender. The palate follows balancing crackery malt flavors with a snappy and mildly spicy hoppiness. Light-to-medium body with a refreshingly crisp effervescence and clean finish, Permutation 6.06 proudly celebrates our connection to Massachusetts and gives us a chance to think about a unique sense of time and place.
