Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew. We name these beers in sequence - their numbering first indicates the year in the Trillium lifespan that the beer was released, followed by a recipe indicator. Brewed at our Fort Point location, Permutation 6.08 marks another entry of our deeper exploration into the unique and innovative hops being cultivated in the Southern Hemisphere. For this batch, we focussed on New Zealand origin Pacific Gem from Freestyle Farms.
Pouring a light orange color with moderate haze, Permutation 6.08 swirls a bevy of tropical aromatics enticing the palate with tones of pineapple, mango and lemongrass. The palate follows unfolding with flavors of fresh citrus and melon. Balanced by a pleasant, faintly spicy bitterness and underpinned by a light biscuit malt character, Permutation 6.08 has a medium body and soft mouthfeel with a clean finish.
