Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.
Brewed at 50 Thomson Place, Permutation 84 marks the first exploration into the realm of wood-aged beer to come out of the new Trillium Fort Point. After primary fermentation, this beer was lagered for 6 weeks at cold temperatures in our new horizontal oak foeders from Foeder Crafters of America. This pale lager pours a golden straw color with brilliant clarity and a pillowy white foam. Gentle malty sweet aromas lift to the nose displaying tones of fresh bread dough, biscuits, and blossom honey underpinned by a faint whisper of oaky vanilla. The palate follows closely with a supportive noble hop character adding a layer of bright citrus zest. With a delicate tannin structure, Permutation 84 has a medium body, soft carbonation and creamy texture that makes for a smooth, clean finish.
